What is the best online learning platform?
It depends on your goal. For recognized certificates, Coursera leads. For cheap single courses on any topic, Udemy is unbeatable during its near-permanent sales. For creative skills, Skillshare and Domestika are the favorites, and for coding and data, DataCamp and Codecademy teach by doing.
Are online course certificates worth anything?
Some are. Professional certificates from Coursera (Google, IBM) and exam-based certificates carry real weight with employers. Completion certificates from Udemy or Skillshare mostly prove you finished; the skill itself is what counts there.
Coursera or Udemy: which should I pick?
Coursera for structured programs with deadlines and recognized certificates, Udemy for buying a specific course cheaply and keeping it forever. They solve different problems, which is why many learners end up using both.
Can I learn for free?
Yes, more than most people think. Almost everything on edX can be audited for free, Coursera lets you watch most course material at no cost, and freeCodeCamp covers web development completely free. You pay mainly for certificates, graded work, and structure.
